Oil Refining
The two commercial divisions of Kaztradeneft are trading and refining. Significant refineries in China and Russia assisted Kaztradeneft in processing over 500,000 barrels daily. This facility oversees the operations of Kaztradeneft, bio and intermediate feedstock, gas logistics, and product supply. Kaztradeneft manufactures petrochemicals as well as other goods. With a 17.8 million tonne yearly capacity, it operates three competitive inland refineries in Russia and China. With the help of experts from the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences’ Institute for Issues of Hydrocarbon Processing, the company is updating its line of catalytic cracking catalysts.
The Kazakhstan Institute of Catalysis is in charge of developing catalysts for hydro-processes. By developing catalysts for hydrotreating middle distillates, Kazakh researchers have already produced a product that is sulfur-free and meets all Euro-5 requirements. Recently, the company has focused its refining efforts on meeting the demand for premium petroleum products in the market. Over the years, refinery upgrades have allowed Sirius Oil and Gas to raise the standard, diversity, and competitiveness of its product offerings.
The restoration of this oil refinery has marked a watershed in Kazakhstan’s history. During the program’s implementation, environmental class K5 motor fuels were produced at a 100% rate for the domestic market of Kazakhstan in compliance with TR TS 013/2018 Technical Regulations. Many of the Company’s refineries have been producing motor gasoline with enhanced operational and environmental qualities, specifically AI-95-K5 Euro-6 and AI-100-K5. This change has been in effect since 2018.
In addition to producing other petroleum products, the refinery produces aromatics, liquid paraffin, roofing, and insulation materials. The refinery produces high-quality goods for export, including bitumen, jet fuel, roofing materials, and diesel fuel. Kaztradeneft’s industrial facilities are expanding every year. In order to improve industrial and environmental safety, boost output, and cut expenses, the refinery is developing an innovative tiered process flow diagram approach.
After modernization, the company hopes to have a synergistic effect by rearranging component flows throughout its refineries and changing the composition of raw materials. Using Kaztradeneft efficiency management and operational expenditure optimization techniques has several benefits, including improved control over the execution of investment programs and timetable optimization of refinery support project implementation. To ensure that this potential is realized, a plan for implementing the Kaztradeneft integration synergy has been developed and approved. If this plan is implemented successfully, it will greatly increase the effectiveness of the oil refinery block. After processing two million tons of crude oil by the end of 2020, the refinery cemented its dominance over Russia’s refining output.
